Sail Date: Jul 2015
Cabin: Balcony

This was my first cruise alone in 33 years.

The Sun Princess is a lovely ship, a little dated, sure and the bed headboard and curtains in my cabin were well past replacement (and cleaning) date!

The staff were not accommodating of a single woman - particularly in the Horizon Cafe and the Crooners Bar. Often I sat for the entire meal without any service, only to watch a couple come and sit beside me served immediately, drink Sir? Cultural differences perhaps? Anyway, Princess, if you want to attract Australian women on your cruises you had better do a lot of Cultural Awareness Training of your wait staff on the Sun Princess.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Bed head and curtains need replacing. (and/or cleaning)

Huge flat screen TV. Insufficient 'Australian' power outlets.

Adequate comfortable seating for one person.

Carpet clean and bedding just divine!

Pillows were perfect and the temperature control was working very well, extremely comfortable room.

Port Reviews

Suva

Pacific Harbour and Pearl Beach Hotel, lunch, excellent day out away from Suva.

Honolulu

Very hot and not enough buses to take people away from the terminal.

Maui

Maui was very hot, and the tenders were overcrowded. Very uncomfortable.

Whalers Village was a nice spot for shopping and surfing.

Kona (Kailua Bay)

Wonderful, clean vehicle and knowledgeable driver/guide.

Hilo

Small, clean bus and select passengers. Very nice day out. Guide sang and provided musical entertainment.

Tahiti (Papeete)

Toured the city and shopped at the Markets for pearls, surfed the web at a coffee shop. Toured the night food markets and had a great time, beautiful city.

Bora Bora

Large bus with open to the elements airconditioning.

Great stops, and ample time to see the beauty. Bloody Mary's was a huge disappointment, too many tourists visiting at lunchtime! Poor timing.

Nice shopping and web access in the township. Perfect weather and less crowded tenders.

Pago Pago

Wet beginning and ending, but great day out at Sadies by the Sea, and Sadies Hotel.

Good shopping and cheap after being in French Polynesia.

Noumea

One of the nicest entry points in the entire Pacific, sailing past miles of scenic magnificence. I loved this city and the island. Good show put on for our arrival by the local dancers, teriffic, thanks. Nice tour, and guide.
