The experience was a solid B+. The only reason it's not an A was the 2+-hour wait to get through security and check-in. I know, it's 4,000 people. Well, hire more clerks because that's not acceptable. It was my first cruise on a large ship so I don't know if this standard, but why make a bad first impression?
OK, that aside, not a bad word to say, including only 30 minutes to get my bags, clear customs and reach my car when leaving.
Service is excellent no matter where you are on the ship. And, the staff is very personable where they will talk to you while even clearing trays. All spoke English despite coming from 73 different countries. They would talk about their homes, which I like more than talking about mine. It gave a real sense of how the company is run because they all seem to love the company, which is always a good sign.
We had a standard room with a balcony and was quite impressed. Efficiently layed out with great closet that could handle two suitcases in the bottom while handling all your clothes. King-size bed. Balcony could easily handle two people with chairs and table. Shower and bathroom were excellent. Couch and nice TV, though little on when out to sea. Very clean and cabin steward never intruded.
Ten minutes from Newark airport. Pulled up to curb where they take your bag, drive around the corner to park. Cost $191 for nine days. Five minute walk back to terminal. Fenced lot.
