This Prague to Berlin cruise did not leave the ports in Dresden and Wittenberg due to low water levels on the Elbe. We were on two Viking ships...three nights on Astrild and four nights on Beyla...and spent our days taking bus trips. We only found out about the low water three days before our so-called "cruise" and were not offered the opportunity to reschedule. We requested a portion of our fare back but this was denied. Viking did offer us $1,000 toward another cruise to be used by July, 2016, but this is not acceptable since after this experience we do not want to take another river cruise.

The two ships were very nice, the crew and service were great and the food delicious. The problem was that we paid for a river cruise so we could relax and enjoy the scenery between Prague and Berlin. We even booked a balcony so that we could sit outside our cabin and enjoy the sights along the river. What a waste!

Our post-trip in Berlin was great. The Steigenberger Hotel was outstanding and we had ready transportation at the near-by train station.

Cabin Review

Cabin B - Verandah

New ship with attractive cabin. Very clean and well-kept.
