This was a cruise with 3 ladies, myself 67 and with mobility issues, my daughter 41 and granddaughter just 5 with definitely NO mobility issues. I flew down to Southampton from Manchester as I could go wheel chair assist and this was a vast help. I can not fault the assistance I received both on the way to and from Southampton. My daughter lives in Cardiff and she drove to Southampton and met me at the airport.
We stayed overnight at the Premier Inn at the airport in rooms I had booked and paid for some months in advance. I chose the airport as I did not know when I booked whether my daughter would have to work on the Friday and so would have arrived late. In fact I booked 2 rooms for us and the total cost for the 2 rooms was less than 1 room in one of the Premier Inns close to the docks. We also booked the meal deal and had a good dinner and breakfast the next morning. Children breakfasting free with paying adults.
First time ever I got help in getting on the ship. Asked to wait for an available chair and attendant and only had to wait about 10mins or so. For me a smooth ride to the ship rather than the long , slow slog up the gangways to the ship. I was very grateful. I also got the same help on leaving the ship.
Can not fault cabin. Plenty of room on balcony. Excellent position for lifts. Never troubled by any noise. Beds really comfortable. Bathroom roomy especially shower, with lots of storage.
Lovely little port. DD & GD took the little land train and loved it
DD and GD went on land train up to view point and pottered about. Another lovely port.
Wonderful sail in. Had breakfast on balcony to make the most of it. We did not have to tender her as we had the sea dock. The queues for the other two ships tendering were unbelievable.
Good port to start out from
