After arriving in LA, we had prime time shuttle booked and waited an 1-1/2 hours to get a shuttle to our hotel. I would not recommend them to use. We stayed at the Best Western in San Pedro, very nice rooms and reasonable. The staff is very friendly and they have a free shuttle to the ship. The Ruby is a beautiful ship and the staff is excellent. Our bags were delivered to our room within an hour. We were in room P318 on the plaza deck which is not a good choice. It is very noisy and at night around midnight on, we could hear a lot of banging from the art gallery and the casino up above. I think they put the paintings away and it sounded like they were banging them against the walls. We did anytime dining and never waited more than 20 minutes for a table. The food was great. We did the crab shack and it was good. We did Ricky's tour in Hilo and highly recommend him and his prices are great. We did Robert's Pearl Harbor & Honolulu city tour for half the price of ship cost and it was fantastic. Punch Bowl Cemetery is beautiful. We did the ATV tour through the ship and it was a blast, this is a must do. You will get muddy but worth it. Kauai ATV will give you clothes to put on over your clothes and rain suits. Do not wear flip flops, you must wear shoes or water shoes. They didn't state that in the excursion listing on Princess website. We did the snorkel tour in Maui and it was fun and reasonably priced and included lunch. Overall our Hawaii trip was great. Just wish there was more time in the ports. Very relaxing with all of the sea days. The ship is still in good shape for her age. We are middle aged people but most of the people on board were senior citizens. Very quiet crowd at night.

Loved our cruise to Hawaii on the Ruby Princess

Cabin Review

Cabin IC P318
The rating is for the cabin location. We were on the Plaza deck and it is noisy. Around midnight, they would put the paintings away and they would bang against the walls. You could hear a lot of people talking and music from the Piazza as well. Noise from above in the casino too. If you want a quiet room, I would choose another deck.
