We have many cruises and 750 points on Celebrity and are truly big supporters and have recommended many to go by Celebrity. We were surprised when this beautiful ship did not deliver what the cruiseline promise as a premier cruiseline, and what we are just to, latest on Silhoutte in march 2015. The stateroom is very nice and the stateroom attendant could not be better. Breakfast and lunch in Oceanview Cafe were very good and the destinations in Italy, Greece and Turky are simply the best. The weather was excellent and we had good company from Norway, USA and England. Then we can accept dinner or entertainment are poor - but not both!
First dinner: The quality of the food were up and down. The dish could be not hot or were too salty. The fish could be to much cooked or fried. The cruiseline promise this in the brochure to be " Deliciously distinctive dining - a foodies heaven".
Entertainment: This is important for us, and I had not given my first review after 82 cruises had it not been for both dinner and entertainment disappointed us. The music was too loud from the band. The cruiseline choose to magnify the drummer via three microphones and loudspeakers, were others put the drummer behind a plexiglass wall. The sound was a disaster. One evening they had a piano man from Texas and the first part we just mostly saw him, and could not hear the piano because the band and the drummer were too loud. The other music was not our liking. I told the cruise director about this, and asked why the ship had no entertainment and music for people over 60 ( I am 61).
Simly the best.
