This was our third cruise with Princess and expected this ship, being just over a year in service, to be an improvement on the other ships on which we had sailed. Our previous cruises were to Italy and Greece on the Crown Princess and to Asia from Fremantle return on the Sea Princess. We were very happy with the ships on both cruises.
However, on the Regal Princess we chose Cabin R728 because it had a sofa rather than a single chair and being on Deck 14, it was close to Horizon Court. We were very happy with the size and layout of the cabin, but as soon as the ship left port, the cabin experienced severe vibrations, to the extent that we got very little sleep on the first night. I knew beforehand that because the cabin was at the very aft of the ship, that there may be some vibrations when the ship was entering and leaving port, but I did not think that we would have the vibrations at all times.
I believe that this is a severe fault with the Regal Princess, as there was considerable vibration in the Dining rooms in the middle of the ship on Decks 5 and 6. Neither of the other Princess ships showed signs of any vibrations at all.
As mentioned above, although cabin size and facilities were good, its location at the absolute rear of the ship meant that the vibrations made it extremely difficult to sleep. Do not pick a cabin at the rear of the Regal Princess if you wish to get a good night's sleep.
Took a Princess Tour which included a canal tour. Tour very good and tour gude excellent.
We took the Princess train and did our own thing in Berlin. The train trip, although three hours each way, gave us an interesting look at rural Germany.
Tallinn is very easy to walk to from the ship and is a very interesting city.
