This was my wife and my 11th cruise but first on Norweigen, getting the UBP for free helped in our decision to try Norweigen. We drove into Manhattan from Long Island and parked on 57th street, just a few blocks from the pier. The embarkation went smoothly and we were on the ship before noon. We went up to the up town grill for lunch and there were no crowds and we had a great burger. We explored the ship and found it to be well maintained and a beautiful ship. This was the last week of August so there were a lot of families with kids and overall a crowded ship. The pool area being the most crowded but you can find places that are quiet. I tried to sign up for the vibe club when we got on but it was already sold out. The first day of the cruise we went spice h2o and had no problem getting two lounge chairs. Actually there were available chairs all morning and it never felt crowded, it truly was a quiet place to get some sun and relax and they have a waterfall area for cooling off.

We saw the dinner show that night and enjoyed it very much. The food was good, not great but good but overall a good night. Some of the other highlights, the Malting bar on deck 8, where the staff is great and it's a great atmosphere. Cagney's steak house was excellent, beautiful place with great food. Also Shang high was very good and no extra fee!

The negatives did not ruin our cruise but we ate at the dining room, Taste, two times and did not have a good meal, there is room for improvement with the included restaurants. Also ordered room service one night and pizza was cold and took over an hour. And like other reviews, pool area was very crowded on sea days.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Typical balcony room, maybe a little smaller but not noticeable. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was a good size and plenty of storage. Very quiet, hardly had any noise, nothing above or below.
