to be absolutely clear: the Ship is in perfect condition, cabins are well spaced and very well equiped even with marble bathrooms. Teak Deck wherever you go. Food is outstanding (IMHO better than Azamara or Celebrity) and Specialty Restaurants are included. Nevertheless we are a bit disappointed. Why? Let me explain: what we love with cruising is that feeling of a common journey with the Ship, the Crew and the Officers. This starts by a warm welcome in Board (does not have to be a "free" drink), a word from the Officers everytime you see them, a (senior) crew/ officers that are concerend if anyhting goes wrong, a "welcome back home" everytime you come back from port. On the "Riviera" we have experienced none (!) of these. The senior staff and management treats you like a paying customer nothing more, nothing less. If you see the Captain (he is mostly hanging out with his italian mates at the coffee bar) you feel like you rather don't distrub him. I never got even a "have a nice day" from him. When you return from Port there is NO tent, NO cold water on the Pier, NO wet towel, NO "welcome back Mr...". When in Zadar the Port Shuttle bus was poorly orginized (1 hrs waiting at the Pier) there was not a single officer that showed up. Instead they sent a girl from Tour Operation that provided us with false information. Tours are not overpriced, they are "rip-offs". I have no problem with paying luxurious prices for a very special tour. But If they put you on the simmilar Bus from the same company that offers the same Tour on the Pier for 1/4 or even less.. do they think we are stupid? IMHO Oceania clearly has a Management Problem with the definition of "hospitality" and thinks, beeing "professional" is good enough. Well, not for us and I am sure who ever experienced Azamara (or even Celebrity) would have the same feeling, that with Oceania Riviera "something" is missing...

(-) the Aircon produces a constant flow of cold air that gave us a stiff neck every morning. No way in switching it off
