While the ship seemed smaller, it was actually part of the design to make it feel more intimate. There was no gaudy center of the ship, just a grand staircase and elevators. The holiday decorations were gorgeous. Plants, garlands and trees were beautifully decorated with class. The room was roomy and very plush. A round end bed had thick and luxurious linens and the bed was near the balcony door so we could watch the ocean from bed. The bathroom had tons of storage with little nooks and cabinets everywhere. The shower was a great design with a rounded shower door to maximize space... it even had a bar for shaving your legs. The sink was a new modern design bowl. Those types of little things were appreciated. Throw pillows on the sofa and bed were also a nice touch. The only thing we could find to improve was the closet doors. The sofa blocked part of the doors and made it hard to get in and out of the closets.Service in the room was wonderful. Our room steward knew our names from day 1 and provided everything we needed and more. Food on this ship was the best we had ever experienced. (We've been on 7 previous cruises) The buffet was standard but the dining room experience was delightful. We always went by what our waiter suggested and were thrilled with the choices. Plates were small, but delicious and it allowed us to order from several categories and save room for the scrumptious desserts. The wine sommelier was attentive and saved our bottles for the following nights. She informed us about several wine events during the cruise that we took advantage of. The wine tower in the dining room was beautiful. Shows on this ship were much better than others we have seen with the typical musical show. The best show was a Cirq de Soliel type of production with acrobatics and people flying thru the air.Don't miss this experience. Also, it was fun to putt on the greens up on the top deck on real grass. My husband got into a bocce game with some guests. There was a lot of space on this ship to go if you didn't want to be around crowds. Lots of little nooks and crannies to sit and relax, read a book or enjoy the views. Our ports were San Juan, St. Kitts and St.Maarten. San Juan was a repeat for us and we just revisited the fort. This port doesn't seem to have much to offer. The city has gone down since our last visit. In St. Kitts we took the "luxury" train ride around the island. It was not luxurious... it was small, dirty, and barely running. It did however, give us a good view of island life. We passed many tiny depressed towns, shut down sugar mills, and lots of places that served goat. We also spotted a few monkeys in the trees. Thinking back on it now, this train may have been luxurious to these poor people. Our St. Maarten excursion included an island tour of both sides of the island and a boat ride to the reef where we went into the hull and watched the diver attract fish. Both parts were interesting. After the tour we spent the afternoon sitting on the boardwalk beach area and having lunch at a little beachfront cafe. We paid for the water taxi back to the ship.If you plan on taking the taxi back and forth all day it is worth the pass for one price. However, the taxi stops after about 6pm so going back at night was not easy to do. When we walked back to the dock area, everything was closed very early. Overall, this ship was impressive. We felt pampered and yet not claustrophobic from crowds of people. The only drawback was the itinerary. We have noticed that it has already been changed from our trip only a month ago. One of the other issues the ship has, and it has been a problem for us before on other ships also, is smoking. Although they repeatedly tell people that smoking is not allowed on balconies, they still do it. There were times when we could not sit out on the balcony because our neighbor was smoking. It's hard to pay for a balcony and then be bombarded with others smoke. There were plenty of designated smoking areas on board. Enforcement must be very difficult. Embarkation and debarkation were a dream. We were early and walked right through and onto the ship. We decided to carry our own luggage off (they allow you to choose) and it was super easy.It was also nice because we didn't have to put our luggage out the night before. We grabbed a cab and were off to the airport. In fact, it was so easy that we changed our flight to an earlier time. We would urge others to cruise this ship and it's new sister to debut this year. Just quiet, understated luxury. You will feel pampered.

Cabin Review

Great cabin location because we were near the elevators and didn't have any rooms across from us.
