Over all, we had an okay time. We've had better and worse.

First things first, If you HATE cigarette smoke, DO NOT BOOK THIS CRUISE. You will be HIGHLY disappointed. I have been on over 20 cruises and I'm VIP with Carnival and I have never seen a cruise cater more to smokers. One of the nicest places on the ship, deck 9 with the Navy chairs and umbrellas was so cool, then you see all these ash trays. People Smoked in the dance club, casino, lobby, lido. It was smokey!!!

I did not get to enjoy the spa/sauna/steam room area, it was very moldy smelling. So, that was out:(. I love to enjoy the steam room and saunas that have a view of the ocean....bummer. There were a lot of weird odors on this ship for some reason. They did a good job of keeping kids out of serenity and aft adult pool, parents didn't help much though sometimes.

Cabin was fine. Take some Lysol, which I always do. The black ring around the toilet made me queezy. But, I Sprayed and wiped the room down with Lysol, which I do on all cruises and all was well after that. We had a Guarantee balcony. Carnival is usually sneaky and crappy with those guarantee rooms, but this time we lucked out. We thought we would hear all the noise of the Mediterranean cafe or deck chairs, we took ear plugs just in case, but didn't need them. We did smell a lot of cigars and cigarettes and had to keep the balcony door closed, which was disappointing. we like the sound of the sea and that's why we choose balcony rooms. There was some sort of sulfuric smell that crept into the room from either the hall or deck above for half a day once and we had to leave the balcony door open so we wouldn't get carbon monoxide poisoning....maybe. Noel was our room steward. He never came to introduce himself, we met him when he came to tell us to go to the drill and never saw him again until late the next day. He was nice, just not as attentive initially. Then he warmed up, but on the last morning, he wasn't nice anymore. He was more like ok, it's over I got your tips go home...lol. I'm going to start docking their tips I swear, based on performance. I want my experience to be nice from the moment I arrive until the moment I leave.
