This was our first cruise with Celebrity and after reading all the great reviews our expectations may have been too high. The good points. Embarkation at Southampton was very speedy, we were concierge class which gives you a faster queue or in our case, no queue. We were very happy with the cabin's size and the excellent bathroom which had enough storage space and more for all our toiletries etc. The shower cubicle was a good size with sliding glass doors. The wardrobe was adequate but slightly difficult to access from one end. Lots of hangers were supplied but we still needed the extras we'd bought with us. Lovely comfortable kingsize bed. Good sized balcony with reclining chairs, footstools and table. The cabin was maintained by our excellent cabin attendant Osman and his assistant.
In the main the entertainment in the theatre was good, especially the comic/singer Mike Doyle, the Chinese magician, David Neven and the other comic/ventriloquist.
The ship was lovely and light and well maintained throughout.
This was a very well located cabin. We were worried that it was near to the stairs, lifts and outside pools etc but once we closed the cabin door you couldn't hear a thing. The main cafe is above this cabin but again, no noise apart from the very last night when people were running around above us. A quick call to guest relations and the noise was stopped. If you like being near to the lifts, stairs, pools and cafe, this is the perfect cabin for you. If we sailed with this ship again, we'd request the same cabin. Osman our cabin attendant and his assistant kept everything neat and tidy, we were very happy with their service. Good size cabin, bathroom and balcony. Lots of toiletries, plentiful supply of clean towels. Plus bathrobes.
We didn't go to Berlin as the coach was 3 hours each way. We opted to walk into the port town of Warnemunde, about 10 mins easy walk. The sun came out after a misty start and we had a lovely stroll around this holiday town. It was quite charming and worth a look if you don't want to go to Berlin. The harbour boat trip was a bit of a waste of time, not much to see at all.
We took the ship's shuttle into Tallin. The Old Town is lovely and well worth a visit for an couple of hours. Lot's of Amber for sale in the many shops. We found ourselves closer to the ship coming out of the old town so managed to walk all the way back. Not a strenuous walk at all either way.
Caught the shuttle bus again and walked through to the harbour area. Lovely sunny weather again so we took a wonderful boat trip, well worth it. We caught a food market so had lovely calamari and whitebait standing by the harbour. Really enjoyed this port.
Paid for the Hop on Hop off bus onboard ship only to find it cheaper if you paid at the bus which was located just outside the ship! Had a very bad experience with this bus so requested a refund when we returned to ship. Stockholm was lovely though well worth a visit
Walked into town from the ship. We joked with friends port side who were talking to the Hop on Hop on bus man. We said "don't do it in a jokey way and the bus man chased us up the road berating us and said he would call the police as we were trying to harm his business! My husband stood up to him saying if he harassed us we'd call the police! He walked away telling to to f**k off! We resolved never to use Hop on Hop off buses again after out two bad experiences. Meanwhile our friends went on the bus and after two hours had seen nothing. The whole bus asked for their money back and started singing we shall not be moved! They had a terrible time and never got to see the things they hoped to. Be warned.
We stayed onboard as we'd visited Brugge many times before.
