Got your attention? Well, after swearing never to cruise in January again...you guessed it, we did. And once again, fate gave us nasty weather. But...it was saved by good cruising buddies and some sun! When life gives you lemons, make Lemon Drop Martinis!

Embarkation was a little slow this time due to the FOGGY Voyager cruise the week before us! The passengers who were waiting to board Sunday before last were in the terminal for several hours and the restrooms finally couldn't handle it anymore so the pipes burst and other unfortunate things too numerous to mention, so that affected last Sunday's boarding, or so the agent told me. But thanks to Platinum designation, we just waited at the Champagne table until all of our 9 person party got checked in. We arrived at port around 12:15 and all of us were finally onboard at around 1:30.

Voyager: The old girl is looking a little more worn, but still beautiful. We personally witnessed their ongoing struggle to keep her fit. They installed new carpeting in several areas of the ship while we cruised! And chipped out and replaced some marble tile in the promenade area. Also talked to an officer who said she is constantly being updated in this way. So the old rumor about old frayed carpeting is really a rumor. The carpet gets replaced in different areas all the time. I did notice that a lot of the aggregate covering like those in the balconies and around the pool deck were pocked marked and worn, but all in all she's still a great ship and the maintenance staff are always polishing and painting.
