Carnival sunshine, Port Canaveral (Orlando, FL)

First, when you're sailing Carnival, know the class of your ship. Amenities, configuration and cabins are different. Any good reviews has to take this into account. Sunshine is a 1996 launched, Destiny Class ship that underwent a major upgrade in 2013 that included the Funship 2.0 additions. It's a great upgrade that includes a lot of features, mostly restaurant options, but this is a very modern ship that competes with the best afloat. The renovation Carnival Destiny underwent to become Sunshine, at the time was the largest, most complex and encompassing renovation attempted in the cruise industry. The ship was completely disassembled and put back together to create Sunshine.

Carnival's slogan is Fun and we really did have fun. The staff is very up beat and friendly top to bottom. The ship has a slightly party vibe but there are a lot of families and, in my opinion, well behaved and supervised kids. A few late night party goers but no one disturbed us.

Cabin Review

Cabin 6B

Adjoining cabins on Deck 1. Machinery noise below woke us early but we were handsomely compensated for the disruption. Overall these are spacious cabins with lots of storage and large bathrooms.
