We did a Western Med Cruise out of Barcelona on Allure of the Seas. We were concerned about the size of the ship! It turned out that we were pleasantly surprised to find that with one exception we never felt crowded on the ship. Central Park was crowded one evening as we passed through to go to a show because there was music and drinks available. Good crowd but hard to get through. Since we had shore excursions every day but one we really can't comment on ship activities. The service was excellent from the cabins to the restaurants to the different venues on the ship. While we didn't use many of the ship's excursions the ones we used were pretty good. The downside to ship excursions is that they always have a restaurant and a shopping experience included which takes away from tour time. Getting on and off the ship was a breeze at all ports although there was a taxi strike at one of our stops. Our cabin was very comfortable. The food on the ship was very good with a wonderful variety of food. We would sail on this ship again!
Roomy and comfortable cabin with excellent service.
We rented a car at LaSpezzia and drove to Lucca which is an ancient walled city that is fun to wander around. After Lucca we drove to the Cinque Terra and took in the sites. This was a great day!
