We just got back from our 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise to St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau.
First I will start with the positives.. The ship was nice, clean and well maintained. They were overly concerned with sanitizers.. They were everywhere and employees walked around squirting your hands with a spray bottle as well. The kids programs were top-notch! My kids had a blast and loved their staff over any other cruise we have been on! Our balcony room was great, the balcony was tiny but served it's purpose. The girl who kept our rooms tidy was amazing! The magic show was amazing but for the amount we payed for the cruise it should have been included and not $30 extra a person. The water slides were the best we have seen along with the rope course. The buffet was good but we got tired of it, it was not as crowded as some of the other ships I've been on.
Ok.. now for the negatives.. The main reason we would not use NCL again is the pool deck. We did not like that the kids were not allowed in the main pool and therefore we were forced to hang out in the back pool away from the entertainment and music. Furthermore there were very few chairs near the pools unless you were OK sitting in the covered area away from the pool. The only other option was on the deck above.. again away from the pools and music. I did not like that we had to walk down the stairs to get to the pool. There was no community feel on this boat. The music and bands were not very good either. We wish they would have played more hits and today's music. It was very Latin and even 70's music one day.. The adult only pool area only had a small waterfall sitting area and no pool. So it was too hot and crowded to be up there. We just found it very uncomfortable hanging by the pool.
Cabin was clean and comfortable. Typical cruise cabin.
