We've just had a great experience on a generally very professional ship. Yes there were a few jiggles but let's be realistic ....the same happens in hotels and at home .... so lets all get real! Embarkation at Canada Place was very efficient - ok there were some queues but with 1600 people getting on board there would be and they weren't very big! The ship was spacious enough that it never felt crowded and the only time we queued was on the first excursion day when we all tried to get off at the same time. There were a good number of entertainers for all tastes - the piano bar singer and the guitarist were excellent each night and well supported by cruisers so clearly other people also liked them. The jazz trio were also very good and generally their lounge was also full of people. The classical trio were technically very proficient but not to my taste - playing in a huge lounge with only ever one or two people. Good shows most nights, not always my taste but actually quite good entertainment if you gave it a go for an hour!

Food was generally very good. We had breakfast and lunch each day in the Lido restaurant and dinner in one of the dining rooms. Breakfast buffet was excellent, huge choice available and the eggs benedict were superb! Lunch options were again very wide and the buffet was kept very well stocked. As I didn't want to come home a stone heavier I opted for salad each day but choice of 30+ items for my plate. Dining rooms in the evening had a good atmosphere and we met some very entertaining people. We had any time dining and never waited more than 10 minutes to be seated. Generally good range of options but obviously the meals took longer than a buffet! Most were cooked well but one or two did not work quite so well. Was initially disappointed not to have tea/ coffee in rooms but actually not practical on a ship and it was always available in one of the restaurants.

Good range of facilities - Tech support, library, quizzes, games etc. Shop area rather pushy with silly raffles. Shore excursions very good - particularly recommend Glacier & Whale watching with photography expert in Juneau. Spa area good but rather overpriced.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Cabin E

Our cabin E3322 was very nice .... the air con wasn't cold enough for us but we're quirky and wanted it 16 or lower! It wasn't huge but we hadn't paid for a huge suite so you get what you pay for and it was a good size. Cabin steward was very efficient.
