We sail mainly on NCL as we enjoy freestyle. .. Less to pack and freedom to eat when we want to. Embarkation, once you manage to get through NY traffic was incredible. We checked in, sat down and my husband went to get some water and our group was called. We had never sailed to Bermuda and since we have a huge celebration on Getaway next year, we decided to try Bermuda on the Breakaway, knowing they were sister ships. Booked a balcony cabin on deck 11 on the port side to even get the feel for the same deck we will be on in the Getaway. We were a little concerned about the size of these ships, but learned that was no problem. We had a wonderful week and did all we wanted. The fact that you can go online and book your dinners, excursions, etc. and be all set before you leave really helps this person who loves preplanning. Never had a problem going where we wanted, when we wanted. Reservations were perfect. We were an older couple so didn't bother with anything except the mini golf which was fun. Can't speak to the lines to do things kids love, like the ropes and plank. Only complaint would be the adult areas which were packed. People did save chairs early in the morning and then leave, probably for breakfast. We often could not find anywhere to sit. We saw all the shows and they were wonderful, especially Burn the Floor and the Cirque show. Also loved the dueling pianos. We even found that the elevators seemed less busy on this ship then ones from the past. Very easy to get everywhere. We didn't need to use their touch screens since we had prebooked everything, but they certainly seemed handy for those who might need it. On this trip we stuck with all main dining rooms except for one night in LeBistro, a treat for our anniversary. All were fine, though there is a noticeable difference between the food in the specialty restaurants and in the main dining room. We usually ate breakfast and lunch if we were on the ship in the buffet and it too was very improved. Lots of choices, plenty of room if you learn to walk through to another section. Great clean up service. Our room was nice, plenty of storage and big enough bathroom. Balcony is truly small, but we used it every day. We also saw our room steward every day, sometimes twice a day. He was always happy to talk, answer questions, and did a wonderful job in our room. Bermuda is an amazing place to go and since we had never been there, went ahead and booked excursions. Could easily go on own from now on as we now know the lay of the land, but the excursions we went on were fun. Did the all day one with cliff diving, cave exploring and swimming, visiting the lighthouse, lunch which was actually a hot meal that was wonderful. Our driver and guide were superb and it was nice to just be in a group of 12 instead of a large excursion. The second one was the catamaran snorkeling trip. This was fun too, although both our snorkeling adventures were nice, but not much in the way of fish. Disembarkation was easy as could be other than waiting for our time. Very much looking forward to the Getaway next year. I know I have already booked excursions and as soon as I can I will book my meals and entertainment. All the staff we saw were hard working and friendly.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Comfortable bed, plenty of room for storage and plenty of room for things in the bathroom. Room steward was best we've had.
