Some tips from our recent Carnival Miracle cruise to the Mexican Riviera

1) There are not many cheap and decent places to eat, in and around the harbor front in Long Beach. We yelped a hole in the wall chinese takeout place (Wa Wa) and it was fine and cheap ($8 per person).

2) A lot of people on the forum seem to stay at Maya and get a very good rate. We used the discount code found on this forum, and the description was Carnival crew only. The front desk did ask for ID and since we didn't have it, we couldn't get the $125 rate. The front desk gave us the best rate they could $287 and comped us the 8 day parking (saves on $152 from parking at the terminal).
