Our room was the best part of the ship (rm# 7228). The assigned service members in the dining room and stateroom were great! Other staff members weren't as friendly as our sailings in the past. However, it did seem that the ship as a whole was lacking enough staff members. For example, no one was offering drinks in the upper floor of the theater.
Excursions lacked enough accessible activities. My wife (confined to a manual wheelchair) did take a walking tour in San Juan. I was able to push her up and down the streets without much issue. However, BEWARE, the tour did proceed up steep hills (no joke) and over some cobblestone. If a person was going to push a person in a wheelchair, he / she needs to be in great shape! The meal was at the restaurant which had an accessible entrance on the side. In St. Thomas, we went to the "Magic Ice" (an ice bar). As expected, it was cold but displayed some nice ice sculptures. The inside was fairly accessible for a manual wheelchair.
Entertainment was good at the comedy club not so much in the theater. This ship had more comedians than any other ship I've seen. Sometimes there were 3 -4 shows ! I hadn't taken a Carnival ship since 2007.
The cabin was the best part of the ship. The balcony seats 4 comfortably. The bathroom is equipped with a fixed shower seat and a tub (which also has a shower as well...basically 2 areas a person can take a shower). My wife (confined to a manual wheelchair) was able to get around the room with no issues. One cool feature was the changing room between the entrance and the bathroom. Definitely the space had plenty of storage too. I guess one negative would be no pull-down mechanisms in the closets (wife doesn't need them). However, this was an unbelievable cabin!
We visited the ice bar. It was fun and fairly accessible for a manual wheelchair. Please keep in mind the entrance is in the front of the building. The cab driver dropped us off in the rear of the building. A person in a wheelchair could experience some headaches getting to the entrance (if this is the case). I'm able to get my wife up curbs without curb cuts, etc. This may not be the possible for some folks confined to a wheelchair.
