This was my first Princess cruise but my 10th cruise overall. I mainly sail Holland American and Celebrity. I chose this particular cruise based on the itinerary but was looking forward to seeing how Princess took care of us. Being a new ship, I expected a lot more than we got. I had room E712, which was on the 8th floor aft, deluxe balcony room. Compared to other ships I have sailed with similar accommodations, this room was way too small. Only 233 sf. I am 6'4" and could not close the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet. The beds were also much smaller than I have seen on other ships. My feet hung off the end of the bed. Also saw several issues of plumbing problems. Laundry rooms flooding and urinals overflowing was the norm. The maintenance people said it was bad design, it happens all the time. Basically, the ship was just too large for my taste. 3,500 passengers. I also prefer designated dinner seating, either early or late. We had "Any time dining" on this cruise. That just meant 3,000 people were trying to eat in a 1,000 seat dining room. Chaos. Each night we were given a pager and had to wait anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour for seating. And we were a party of 2. No reservations for parties less than 6. What a great system. My grade, C+.
