Just returned from 5 days on the QM2. The cruise was wonderful and the weather perfect. My family and I were in the Queens Grill and Cabin 10074 (Q5). This was not our first cruise when have been on other lines including: Oceania, Crystal, Celebrity, Seabourn etc.

Embarking was uneventful if you were to arrive early. We arrived at 11:00 am and there were still passengers disembarking. We showed are tickets and ID and then were sent over to a few tables to complete a form. We checked in the at the desk and then were sent to a small dark room with all other grill passengers and waited until 1200pm to board. They provided water and juice both were empty by the time we entered the room. Upon boarding the ship we went directly to our room which was ready and the luggage arrived immediately. We then went to the Queens Grill for lunch and meet our waiter for the cruise.

When returning back to our room we found the air condition not working, I notified the butler at 6:00 it was still not working I went to the Pursers Office and complained to the clerk and finally I asked to Speak to someone in charge. Henry the assistant hotel manger came out and I asked for a room change and he advised me that there were no more Queens grill rooms available. They did resolve the AC problem but not until after 7 pm. The crew and staff especially Henry were out standing.

Cabin Review

Queens Suite

Cabin Q5

We had my wife and two teenage daughters in the room. It was tight but manageable as there was a changing area with a curtain. The bathroom was full size with a tube (rare). Plenty of room.

Large balcony with two deck chairs loved it.

TV was small and not clear

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

Difficult to get to and traffic is a nightmare all the time. Bayonne is a much better port. I cant believe I would say this Manhattan is even better. The terminal is dingy for the level of traveler and the cost.

Boston

We went on our own as we had been to Boston many times. I did like the fact that there was free shuttle service to downtown. Was great !!
