Royal Princess did well given the 3600 or so passengers on board. Embarkation was great (at least in the Platinum priority line). Disembarkation was severely mismanaged however and was the low point of this cruise. We were leaving fairly early (6:40) and to meet in Vista Lounge. We were there early but the other people in our group going to Heathrow AP were already disembarking in with "every man for himself" to find luggage space on the 4 or 5 buses leaving to our destination (Heathrow). Once there, the one hostess girl on our bus had to drag the luggage out with little help and thru from other side of bus due to traffic. Very, very poor way to end an enjoyable cruise.
The food was a notch above most other ships with Alfredo's Pizzaria being a high point. Royal Princess did well given the 4000 or so passengers on board. The food was a notch above most other ships with Alfredo's Pizzeria being a high point. Dinner in Sabitini's for the extra 25 dollar charge is hardly worth it. The Concerto dining room which had a fixed early seating time but "Anytime" dining after 7:45 was superior. Once we made reservations early each day (and were told that the requested table could not be guaranteed), we always had the same table. The waiter and the assistant waiter were the best we've ever had. We even added extra tip money for each as they were that good.
Took hop on, hop off city tour. Live guide excellent. Good history lesson given. People very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Beatles and Titanic. OK if you are fan of those thinks. Titanic exhibit seems pricey for what it is, tourist draw. If you had lots of time, maybe.
Took city tour. Very good tour. Passed up Guinness factory. Too crowded. Accidentally wandered into famous pub, Stags Head. Highlight as the food was unbelievable good. Nice people, good ales, whiskeys, beer. Highly recommend this place. Try the beef cooked in Guinness with mashed potatoes on top. Extremely good.
Very nice place to walk around, friendly, shops, many open as they would be closed since we were there on a Sunday. Try the Pasty Presto for excellent meat pies (Cornish disk) and desserts, coffee. Puff pastry. Nicely done. Recommended.
