Yes, my brother has always wanted to vacation in Alaska - for his gift last Christmas I gave him this Solstice Alaska Cruise! Needless to say, he was thrilled!
Our journey stated on June 30 th as we flew to Seattle for a few days there before sailing on July 3. I could be the guide in Seattle since I had visited this nice city several times in the past. Our stay at the Celebrity recommended hotel the Fairmont Olympic Hotel was great & me t all of our expectations . We could walk to Pike Market, several Starbucks , various parks & the Seattle Needle. Since the weather was perfect we made the most of our time here.
Our transfer to the ship was provided by Celebrity & went smoothly on July 3 as did the embarkation process. My brother was so excited to be sailing for the first time & beyond excited to be going to Alaska.
This bump out cabin enabled us to have even better views of all that Alaska had to offer this Summer. It was kept perfectly clean by our Smiling attendants ! The beds & pillows were extremely comfortable. While some cruisers felt the showers to be small, we had plenty of room & felt the bathroom was large enough.
I love this amazing fun city full of friendly people with its sights & variety of Restuarants . Pike Market is one of my favorite places to visit, watch people & shop with fish to flowers all around ! The Duck adventure from land to water was great fun & gave us a good around town overview.
One word describes Victoria --- Beautiful ! From old World European buildings to the colorful hanging baskets on the lamp posts, this clean city full of friendly locals offers a great deal to visitors. It is fun just to walk around & enjoy the sights such as the little bright yellow water taxis & sea planes coming in & out of the docks. Shopping is great. One of my favorite chocolate shops is here in Victoria --- Rogers Chocolates. !
