Have just read a "disappointed" review of this cruise and just felt I had to respond to a few points.

We have just returned from our 14 night Mediterranean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas and had a fantastic time from beginning to end. It was the perfect choice of holiday for a family with two teenagers. I agree with all the positive points made but must admit we didn't make any use of the additional dining facilities that required extra payment - the choice of dining and quality of food was excellent without having to do that. However I spoke to quite a few people on board who all said that both Giovanni's and Chops Grille were both superb.

So onto all these supposed negatives:

Port Reviews

Nice

Loved Villefranche and the tender boat experience.

Malaga

Thought it would be just beaches but pleasantly surprised at the historical sites within easy reach of the port

Lisbon

Beautiful city within easy reach of the ship berth. We took an open top bus tour which took 90 minutes. Great decision in 30C temperatures.
