We love sailing on Celebrity and were very excited about the July 15 sailing out of Amsterdam with the British Open as the Signature Event. The good/best parts of the cruise were the comfortable cabin, the good to very good meals, the friendly and helpful staff, mostly good entertainment and the itinerary.
We had a balcony cabin which was roomy and comfortable, plus our cabin steward was lovely. We ate nearly all our meals in the MDR and have to stay we truly enjoyed most of them. Choices were plentiful and well prepared. All of our wait staff, guest services, transport staff, etc. were friendly and helpful. Most of the entertainment was good to very good. We love Lindsey Hamilton and have enjoyed her music on previous cruises. We also loved Jane Curry. She is a hoot and a fabulous performer!! The Silhouette Singers, Band, Dancers and Acrobats put on some very good shows. All in all, very good.
I don't like to write negative reviews, but I feel there are some issues on this cruise that need to be addressed by Celebrity. Many were caused by events not of their making, but their way of handling things was not what I expected from a quality cruise line.
The cabin was very comfortable and had plenty of storage. It was very quiet as it was not near an elevator or public area. The view looking down was the lifeboats, but we had a clear view looking forward and to the sides.
We tendered in late morning and walked up and down the hills of St. Peter Port. It was a gorgeous day so we truly enjoyed the experience. We also walked through Candies Gardens and visited the Victor Hugo House (tho we couldn't go in) and the Castle.
