We chose Carnival again this year for our 3rd cruise because the previous cruises were nice and enjoyable. Our first cruise we chose a suite and the latter, a Spa balcony cabin. Paying a higher cabin rate with supposed exclusive amenities (which is not The case). This cruise lacked in quality (food, environment, entertainment and clientele). Why have an elegant dress code when many on the ship dressed like they were at a local fair?
This was a cheapened atmosphere. There must have been a huge economy discount on the lower decks. Children were left to roam free by the dozens and seemingly no parental control. No manners. Long, long lines to eat. Food was very average compared to the Dream ship. Obvious they went cheap on food quality. Heard other cruisers make the same observation. The pools were smothered with rowdy kids and teens, with no relief in sight until the sun went down. As far as the Spa deck, not exclusive. People camped out on the hammocks and lounge chairs and so all adults regardless of cabin price could go there. It's like buying a first class ticket on a plane only to find out that anyone could sit in first class regardless of ticket price. Entertainment was scarce. Boring lounge singers to foul mouth comedians. Not much to choose from. If you are looking for a classy environment and elegant cruise, this is not it. I could go on and on. We have decided that this will be our last Carnival cruise. Will go with Royal or Norwiegan next time.
Decor was nice. Not any different than a regular balcony cabin.
