Everything leading up to the ship was routine, nothing too different from other ports or cruise lines. It was nice to have a separate line for balcony staterooms, really cut down the waiting time for us in Miami. Parking is horrible, the garage is nice but it is $20 per day and you pre-pay.
Room was small, much smaller than I thought. I'm glad we got the balcony suite because without it we would have been in an even smaller room. Well worth the upgrade.
We had an issue with towels and our room being cleaned on the first day. The stateroom attendant was not up to par, but after a conversation with the hotel director and a letter later that evening (given to the hotel director) service was great and the room was always clean with fresh towels. Sad that it took such measures, but good that it resolved the problem. The cruise director really took an interest in our happiness and worked to correct the issue as quickly as possible. He made a huge difference in our view of NCL.
Our room was very small - and we had a balcony suite! It was much smaller than comparable cabin sizes on RCCL. The bathroom was tiny, as was the storage space. RCCL does a much better job with space and storage. For the price, this was expected though. You HAVE to get the balcony if you don't want to feel like you're in a coffin. The space is not large enough for 3, even though they say it is. Two is about all it will fit. The bed was suprrisingly comfortable though, a nice end to a long day.
