I was very active on my roll call planning only private excursions and transfers. All the tours were wonderful and I met some terrific people. I traveled with my husband and 20 yr old son. We stayed in London for 3 nights pre cruise and shared a transfer to port with 2 other couples with Smiths Airport transfer. I also used them for a transfer to LHR after the cruise. I highly recommend them.

Embarkation went smoothly and quickly. This was our first time as platinum members and I enjoyed this perk very much along with the 250 free internet minutes per person. We stayed in premium balcony cabin A739 in the aft of the ship. This was a great cabin with an extended balcony lengthwise. Soot wasn't an issue at all. We saw some for only one day and it was cleaned up immediately. Before leaving for this cruise we all downloaded the princess messenger app. I loved this new feature. I was able to communicate with my husband and son from anywhere on the ship. It's exactly like texting, but with no charge. You can also view the daily activities. A big plus would be if Princess could list the daily menus and the option to make reservations. Hopefully, that will be in the future.

My son was worried that there might not be that many people his age on ship. From all my previous cruises on Princess, there was always a get together for the 18-25 yr olds on the 1st night of the cruise so they can all meet and every night thereafter. I looked at the patter and there was nothing listed. I went to passenger services and asked them to contact the CD to see if there was a plan for any activities for this age group. The next day, I received a message on my cabin phone from passenger services stating that any get togethers were not going to happen on this cruise. Those were the exact words, almost like they had something against this age group. My son ended up meeting a brother and sister around his age, but we found that many of this age group were just wandering around the ship looking for things to do and were generally very bored at night. I spoke to quite a few parents and they all felt like I did, that Princess dropped the ball on entertaining these young adults. There was also a conflict with the drinking age. No one we asked knew if the age to drink was 18 or 21. We kept getting different answers. It wasn't until my son gave his card at the bar, that he was told the age was 21. You can probably tell that I was extremely disappointed and upset by how Princess treated this age group. I hope they keep in mind that these are the future adult cruisers and should be treated to activities suiting their age.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

We took a private tour with Jason from 1st call taxi. Guernsey is a beautiful island and Jason gave us a fantastic tour.

Tendering back to the ship was a zoo, waited 1 1/2 hours for tender. Princess needs to get it together for this port.

Belfast

Odyssey group bus tour to giant's causeway. I should of booked a private tour. Certain people kept getting on the bus late and delaying our day. Giant's causeway is beautiful!

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Excursion to St Andrews and Edinburgh with Gordon from G & S cabs. The reason I didn't give it an "excellent" is because we didn't spend more time in St Andrews. It was partly my own fault, because I didn't speak up. In my communication beforehand I told him the focus of the day should be St Andrews. We stayed there for 1 1/2 hours, we could have stayed longer instead of making a wasted stop at a distillery which we didn't ask for. Loved St Andrews! We spent a few hours in Edinburgh.

Le Havre

Private tour of Normandy with Overlord tours. Pierre was our guide and he made D Day come alive for us. Incredible tour!
