We had a really wonderful time on the Celbrity Eclipse Baltic Cruise. The ship was beautiful and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Our trip was 14 nights and we'd booked the 5 package speciaility dining. With hindsight I think the 3 package deal would have been sufficient as there was such variety in both the main dining and the Cafes that we were more than catered for. Having said that the Speciality restaurants were fabulous and well worth the extra cost.
Whether or not you take the drinks packages really depends on how much you drink. We were glad we didnt take the package as we generally had a half bottle of wine at night and a couple f drinks eack during the day and we would have way verpaid if we'd taken a package.
The entertainment was abslutely fantastic; hats off to Sue and all the entertainment staff. They had different acts coming off and on the ship at every port and the range was great.
Cabin was absolutely fine and kept immaculate. No shower gell standard but I asked our attendent and he got us some.
We had booked a "restricted" view which meant we were above the life boats. For this cruise it didnt matter at all as we had a good view of everything we wanted. We are hoping to go to Alaska next year and I wouldnt book it for a cruise like that where the view is really what you're going for but for a city cruise it asnt worth paying the extra.
Not easy to get from ship to Bruges. Luckily we shared a taxi with another family and this worked out great. Make sure you go to te Chocolate Museum and leave plenty of time. We were rushed at the end as we left it too late.
We took Molly Steam Train (See Trip Adviser) which was great fun
We took a private 2 day tour with Red October which was excellent
We did hop on hop off and walking tour
We walked into town (if you want bus make sure you buy tickets before you leave port) and then tk walking tour with Daniel which was great.
WE did hop on hop off and walking tour, both good
just did hop on hop off
