This is my 16th cruise - several lines - 4th on RCCL. Hadn't sailed RCCL in 7 years. Sailed Rhapsody on July 12, 2015 -7 Nights to Rome (Civitavecchia), Santorini, Bodrum, Kusadasi, Chania (Crete,Greece).

TRAVEL TO EMBARKATION: Strongly suggest to take a private transfer to Port Civitavecchia instead of bus or train. The cost is just a little more and you don't have to haul your luggage from the train station to the port. Rome-chauffer.com offers transport from your hotel in Rome or from the airport FCO to the port for about 150Euros for 4 people. Less than 40Euros per person and they drive you right up to the Cruise port entrance. When you add up the cost of the bus to the train station, the train fees, then the bus to the port you probably end up paying more and hauling your luggage along with all the other passengers doing the same thing. RCCL embarkation went extremely smooth. Very well organized. Cabins ready at 1:30PM. Muster Drill at 4PM.

CABIN: Inside Cabin 4553 & 4555. Comfortable standard inside cabins have no fridge. Mini bar items (soda, snacks) are left inside the cabinets over the desk. Ice bucket is provided. If there is no fridge, no mini bar items should be sold. I found the cabin to be in pretty good condition as this ship is an older one. A 19" (?) flat TV is provided. You cannot access your onboard account via the TV. Phone is by desk instead of by the bed. Inconvenient when receiving wake up calls. Our room attendant, Danilo (Daniel) was excellent! I do not recommend booking on this deck as the above deck is mostly public area and the noise of guests and running around happens at all hours. No toiletries are provided but soap in the shower from a dispenser. The showers are cloth not doors so they stick to you as you shower.
