We are a family of three - my wife (49) and I (50) and our 13 year old son. My wife and I had cruised five other times prior to this cruise. RCI back in the late 90's, Celebrity in early 2000s', Carnival twice in the 2000's and to Bermuda last year aboard the Celebrity Summitt. We love Bermuda and decided to cruise there again but wanted to port out of Baltimore for convenience. RCI was the only option.

We do not attend any shows, parties, seminars, lectures, etc. while on ship and do no take excursions so we can not comment on them.

Aboard the Grandeur of the Seas, we had a large inside cabin (cabin 8033). Two twins were combined for my wife and I. My son was given a very cool, space efficient twin bunk that was above our bed to the right. There is another bunk stowed to the left if needed. These bunks are similar to train cabin car bunks that I have seen on TV and are much nicer than the fold out chair/bed that my son used on the Celebrity Summit last year. Obviously, the bunks make getting into and out of bed harder especially since we had to stow our suitcases along the sides of our bed. All beds were uncomfortable. Like other reviewers have stated, the mattresses need to be replaced. The shower was too small so that the dirty shower curtain was frequently touching me. The soap they supply always seems to be thin enough to fall through the soap holder slats onto the shower floor requiring me to exit the shower to pick it up. The shampoo dispenser is easily knocked off the wall and falls apart once it hits the floor. Our room's A/C never got cool enough and was thankfully supplemented with a fan by our cabin attendant. We were still hot every night. The A/C was checked by maintenance and was purported to be working fine but couldn't cool to 75 degrees with the three of us inside the cabin.

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Cabin was OK. Bunk beds were very space efficient. All mattresses need to be replaced. Shower is too small.

Port Reviews

Baltimore

Easy getting into and out of the port. Parking was easy and close by. Some of the TSA officers could be nicer and more helpful.

We would very much like to continue porting out of Baltimore.

King's Wharf

This was our second cruise to Bermuda in consecutive years. The ship docks there for 2.5 days and you are free to come and go as you please.

Bermuda is very clean, orderly and expensive. If eating off the ship, expect to pay at least $20usd per entree at an average restaurant. A KFC 10pc bucket of chicken, two sides and drinks is $42usd in Hamilton.

Getting around Bermuda is fairly easy using their public ferries and buses. It is fairly expensive.

Snorkel Park Beach is a 7 minute walk off of the ship. Horseshoe Bay Beach is awesome and is a 25 minute bus ride. The sand, however, is not really pink.

Church Bay Beach is good for snorkeling but was rather rough wave wise when we were there.

Shopping is expensive. T-Shirts and souvenirs can be bought at fair prices in Hamilton. Watches and jewelry are not really duty free for US citizens. While items may be duty free in Bermuda, you must declare their value to US customs and will be charged duty when returning back to the US on anything valued greater than the at the time allotment.
