Having cruised on MSC OPERA in August last year and heard the refurbishment included a splash park we were very excited about bringing our daughter husband and 4 grandchildren on board.
I could not believe the changes to the menu and the quality and quantity of the food
.In august everything was tasty plenty of variety and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.
We tried the restaurant most nights but even the waiters were embarrassed about the food and quantity and many a time offered us something extra one potato seemed to be the norm along with little meat or vegetables.
We have visited Italy on many occasions and have always had wholesome tasty food , we may be British but burgers hot dogs and chips are not for us
The grandchildren ordered fish fingers one night and when we said eat them up they replied they don't have any fish in them, so we all tried them and it just tasted of mush.
My husband son in law and granddaughter tried the king prawns and they were absolutely disgusting just mushy and tastless.
We had quizzes good musicians and reasonable shows last time but unfortunately not much going on at night .I personally like opera but it is not for all tastes, most shows not for us so we didnt bother.
Disco for 15 minutes twice in the whole 14 days for the children terrible, you try to explain why it ended so fast to a six and four year old.
Baking session for children very good but wanted all family entertainment for the children and ourselves on holiday as a family
Cabin although a bit small was very adequately kitted out and plenty of storage.
Stateroom attendant kept it immaculate and did everything he could for us.
Showe seemed a bit bigger than in August so that was good.
Nice port had a nice mooch about
Stayed on the ship have already been to the acropolis.
Did not get into Venice but have been 5 times before and it is stunning
