Compared to other cruises, this was just average. The ship is very dark and feels cramped, the pool area is far too small and the loungers are packed so tightly together that there is no privacy. No chance of getting a sun bed on a sea day. Cabins are ok, we had 2 balcony cabins, 8255 and 8257 with the extra large balconies which I would recommend especially as we spent more time than usual on them due to the overcrowded outdoor deck areas. We found the furnishings a bit basic but the bathroom was the biggest we have had on a cruise ship. Cleanliness excellent. Entertainment was a let down. The aim of the ship was to get as much money out of passengers as possible and the constant sell sell sell attitude was annoying. They wanted you to pay extra for alternative evening entertainment so if you were intending on watching the main acts in the theatre, you would be disappointed at the lack of variety. For the 10 night cruise, the Celebrity performers only did 2 shows and I have to say that they were very good. The singers were the best we have seen on a cruise ship. Apart from 2 comedian/impressionist/singers, the other acts were just singers/musicians which are not entertaining enough to hold a theatre audience. The 2 comedians were scheduled straight after each other and on the 3rd day, they did a joint show so although they were quite entertaining, their acts became a bit tedious. Other entertainment ( a couple of games and dancing ) were carried out in the foyer or another small walkway area so was totally useless for the majority to see or interact. We ate in the main dining room, Opus, and mostly found the food too salty and of poor quality. The usual no action taken when guests arrived in shorts and t shirts prevailed. The buffet dinner looked good with a lot of variety but we didn't try it. Again, Celebrity tried to get extra money from the passengers with the many surcharge restaurants. Again, you were constantly bombarded with advertising to book these. Even after a day sightseeing, the usual welcome back was replaced by staff trying to sell these restaurants and handing out leaflets. Some good points, embarkation and disembarkation was efficient. The 2 ports we had to use tenders was carried out really well and we didn't have to wait at all. However, we didn't leave until most of the passengers had got off. The itinerary was good and varied. We had been to most places before so focused more on relaxing activities like finding a local beach. Our cruise on Royal Princess 2 years previously with a similar itinerary was far superior.

Just OK
