The Freestyle experience is disappointing. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and decided on the Western Mediterranean cruise. The itinerary was great. But the ship experience was overwhelming at times. During our at sea times, the ship felt overcrowded. There were not enough sunbathing chairs. Children were out of control most of the time especially on Deck 15. Kids were running by the pool area which is dangerous. No signs that are typically around most pools as far as behavior is concerned. My husband & I secured chairs in the shade area next to the outdoor chess game. Kids were slamming the chess pieces onto the deck & boat walls completely unsupervised. Several people left the area in disgust. Crew members ignored the racket and parents didn't seem to care when they witnessed it. The daily cruise newsletter repeatedly posted dress attire for the inside dining areas. People dressed however they wanted: no collar shirts, flip flops, etc. No enforcement from crew host or wait staff. During the infrequent times we needed clarification on an excursion or other question, we found the guest service & shore excursion staff very unfriendly as well as towel service staff.

We enjoyed our cabin. Our private balcony was an oasis for us. Our room was cleaned well each day. Our steward was polite and very accommodating.

The alcoholic beverages & wifi access was extremely expensive. Lots of taxes: an $8.00 glass of wine cost roughy $15.00. Craziness. The excursions were enjoyable. The guides were knowledgable.
