Sail Date: Jul 2015
Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

In 2007, we sailed Radiance in the Caribbean, so when I saw that the ship was in Alaska for the very cruise we wanted I jumped at the chance to go on her again. We did a 4 night pre-cruise land tour from Anchorage to Denali, Talkeetna, Alyeska (fabulous) and Seward, but I won't give the details of that here - suffice to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

THE SHIP

We were taken by our tour coach to Radiance at 1:30 p.m. on July 3rd and we were on the ship by 1:45 p.m. I thought the ship looked fabulous and I loved some of the changes since our last cruise - the new little restaurants, the big screen on the pool deck, park cafe in the solarium, the layout of Windjammer had changed for the better. After the muster drill at 7:30 we set sail. No big set-sail party as most were at dinner.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

We were glad that we had a balcony, because on this cruise, as it was so warm, we could sit out drinking our wine and watching the beautiful scenery. A balcony just makes you feel as though you have a much larger space to live in. The cabin had a bit of wear and tear, but nothing awful, everything worked and was clean. It was a long walk from the stairs/elevators, but we wanted that. I chose port side thinking that we would have better views of land; stupid me, for most of the trip there was land on both sides - so port or starboard, you can't go wrong.
