This was my first ever cruise, so I really have nothing uo compare it to. From what I've gathered from others, this is a far more laid back cruise as far as dinners go - and I have to say, I think this is the only way I would enjoy cruising. I like to be able to eat when I want, where I want, and with who I want. I think I would like dinners to be a bit more formal, just because I like dressing up, but honestly, there were nights I enjoyed being able to go "as is" when I was hungry.
As far as the ship goes, there were definitely places that could use a little refurbishing - new booth covered, worn rugs - but for the most part, everything is in pretty good condition. I had one spa treatment, a special for that day, which was decent, but I didn't get to use the full spa (locker room, hot tub etc) which was kind of a disappointment. I'm not sure I'd recommend the spa. The food was pretty good - the buffet always had lots of options, and the desserts were always delicious! Really enjoyed all of the entertainment - good shows every night, always things to do during the day like bingo, deal or no deal, trivia etc. really appreciated all of the hard work of the "fun crew" as they were always providing entertainment somewhere on the ship. And really, all of the employees on the ship were great. Super friendly and helpful. Loved having our same steward every day taking care of our room.
The cabin was small, but an amazing amount of closet space, drawers, and shelves in the closet area, so I never felt cramped. The bathroom was def small but again there was good shelf space to put all of our stuff.
