  3. Disney Fantasy
Stayed in cabin 6598. Great location. Lower and middle of boat so there wasn't as much motion. Only a few floors above the restaurants, stores, and theaters. Pool is only 5 floors above. Room is large with verandah on the right side of the boat. Love that there is a separate shower and sink in one room and a toilet and another sink in the other room. Queen size bed can be curtained off from the sofa bed and pull down bunk in the living quarters to give both sides some privacy. Disney does a fantastic job of everything on the ship. I wasn't that impressed with the children's activities on the cruise. The activities for the children aged 3-11 were separated into two areas and the children can choose what and where they want to go. It seemed more like a day care that had stations for activities that the children can do and move around from station to station. It seemed like chaos in there with all the kids running around. This was different than the Princess cruise that we went on a few years back where there weren't as many children and the activities were done as a group and the kids got to know other kids. I guess with so many kids on Disney cruises, there is only so much they can do. We allowed our child to go in and out as she pleased (9yrs old) with another friend who came with us on the cruise. After a few times at the Oceanaires Club, they decided that it was more fun for them to just go to the pool and the Aquaduck. The Aquaduck is a waterslide that was the highlight for my daughter. The other activity they have was a mystery adventure that is fun to do. It takes you around the boat looking for clues that are in interactive screens....awesome fun for kids and adults. Of course there are Disney princesses and characters that show up all throughout the day for you to take pictures or autographs with. With movies in the theaters and shows in the evening, there is never a time where you don't have something to do. Cozumel-We went on the ruins, chocolate and discovery tour. NOT RECOMMENDED. Eaten alive by mosquitoes at the ruins. The ruins are just small rock huts that they discovered years ago. Chocolate factory wasn't that impressive. Discovery tour is just a small replica of the ruins that you would see at Chichen Itza. There were so many people that you were herded into buses and hustled in and out of the venues. Felt like cattle with so many people. Recommendation would be to either find a private tour (we did that in Jamaica...see below) or just hang out at a local beach which our friends did. They said their highlight was the beach on Cozumel. Grand Cayman - We did the dolphin swim and stingray adventure. PARTIALLY RECOMMENDED. They took us to a dolphin swim area where my daughter got to swim with the dolphin and get a kiss from them. They enjoyed it but I am sad that I was supporting the capture of these dolphins. I would NOT do this again. These dolphins are captured and live in a small area. Afterwards, they really want you to purchase photos from them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED is the stingray adventure which was right after the dolphin swim. They took us 30 min out to a reef where there are tons of wild stingrays. Everyone got out and the water was only waist deep. The stingray were swimming around and we got to hold, pet, and feed these stingray. The water was so blue and beautiful. We did this excursion through Disney and again felt like cattle being herded to these places along with hundreds of other passengers. Jamaica - Horseback Riding and Blue Hole through Ricardo (Liberty Tours Jamaica) - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We did a private excursion in Jamaica. At first we were wary of doing something on our own apart from a Disney sanctioned excursion. But this was the best excursion of the trip. We walked out on our own quickly and our driver Michelle came to pick us up. It was our family in one car with a private driver telling us about the country and giving us a tour. She took us to a horseback riding excursion where they guided us through the village and then into the water. Our daughter loves horses so she was so happy riding the them. After Michelle let us have a snack by stopping at a Jamaican patty place Juicy Patty...yummy. The they took us to the Blue Hole. This place is AWESOME. A river that has lots of deep holes that you can jump into. A small cave you can crawl into and jump out into flowing water. A really fun adventure. Bring water shoes, waterproof camera, and wear your swim suit. Castaway Cay- AWESOME. Their own private island. We did the stingray, bike, snorkel, and tube excursion - NOT RECOMMENDED. You don't really need to do this excursion. Stingray was cool, but we did it already in Grand Cayman. The inner tube rental was used by just the kids. snorkel was ok, you can snorkel out past the far lifeguard to see the ship and mickey etc. Bike ride was on beach cruiser that just goes partially around the island...you could skip it. You are better off just paying for what you want to do. I think to rent the snorkel equipment for the day was around $15 and so was the inner tube. Food is free at Cookies 1 and 2 which are the restaurants on the beach. -You don't need to bring your own beach towels from home as the cruise provides towels at all ports. -They provide you shampoo, condition, and soap in the cabins on the cruise. -Everything is purchased on your room card, so you don't need a wallet or cash. -Bring your own lanyard with a card holder to hold your room card. Or you could buy one for $10-20. Our friends brought a lanyard with a waterproof case they put their cell phone and room card in to carry around.

You get snorkel gear which only half of us in the family used. Only half used the inner tubes. Only half of us biked. And only half of us did the stingray.
Bike riding was not that fun....small island riding beach cruisers
Stingray was decent but the package wasn't worth it.
Inner tube was fun for the kids, but they only used it part of the day.
Snorkel was fun for the ones that wanted to use it. See the shipwreck and Mickey. Just pay independently the things you want to do and save $

  • Dolphin Swim
Captured dolphins taking pictures kissing and riding with you. Will NOT do this ever again. Feel sad for these dolphins that are captured. Some had scratches on the sides and don't seem happy. They also want you to buy their photos to make more money off you, won't let you take your own photos.
