The Good The Commemmorative Concert in Liverpool was absolutely fantastic & Cunard are to be congratulated on organising such a spectacular event. The stewards/stewardesses & waiters/waitresses were excellent, as was the Britannia Restaurant morning, noon & evening. Afternoon Tea in the Queen's Room was a delight. The fireworks & sailaways were wonderful. The ship was very clean, tidy & well maintained, both inside & out. The amount of organisation that had gone into this particular voyage was impressive. The Bad The attitude of the staff the further up the seniority scale they went (right up to the very top!) was poor. King's Court was best avoided. The ship's security staff at port embarkations were downright rude & disorganised. Many passengers couldn't seem to understand how lifts worked & as soon as the doors opened, barged right in, regardless of the fact that most occupants wanted to exit the lift! The Ugly The 5.30 p.m Cunard transfer from our NY Hilton Hotel to the airport was a shambles & very upsetting. The rep was hopeless. Picked up 30 mins late (no explanation/apology), then 30 mins later stopped to pick up from another hotel. They had also been given 5.30 p.m. time so had been waiting 1 hour! The rude Russian driver verbally abused an elderly lady for taking too long to get in the minibus when she had already waited 1hr on the pavement for him - even the hotel doorman was shocked & told him that was no way to speak to someone. The Russian just grunted & in fact, never spoke to us at all, though he was talking on his mobile in Russian most of the time. Then a mad, fast drive to the airport, though we were all worried we were going to miss our flight & only just made it by running through arrivals to check-in etc. A very poor end to what had been a fantastic holiday.
