My wife and I were one of four couples wanting to cruise to Alaska. Norwegian offered the dates and itinerary desired. Two couples were first timers so they had experience for comparison. Free-style dining is a plus with flexible tables and time. Cabin size and storage was good for all but one couple who did not have quite as large a room as the rest of us. Three of the four had room for a sofa. The crew was friendly from the cabin steward to the "Washi, washi" to waiters to the managing staff. Everyone was approachable! The food quality was good, only the apple pie was lacking. The entertainment was outstanding. We only went to the family shows. The ports of call and length of cruise were the biggest reason chose the Sun but the ship turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The ship was very clean and the maintenance crew were cleaning and painting the outside at every port as well as doing necessary maintenance while under way. A tile became cracked in the buffet so they roped off the area and repacked it in less than an hour.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

Beautiful scenery. Hubbard glacier was my favorite.

Seward

Did not get to spend time here. We took a bus to Anchorage, rented a car, and did a four day land tour on our own.
