This was our 1st cruise with Royal Caribbean, our 4th cruise in 3 years, all previously with Holland America. I thought I was loyal to the elegance of HAL, which is truly a "signature of elegance", but Royal Caribbean really blew us away here. The ship was in top shape, I found no flaws anywhere, the food was so much better than on HAL, the dining options are awesome. Loved how anyone could have an awesome sea view while dining on aft end in Windjammers, nice variety too. The dining room has 3 levels and are just stunning with great service. Wilburto and Arvind were our waiters on Botocelli dining room, they were great, as was Welkin in the Chops Grill, this has a fee, but truly not to be missed for signature steaks. Spa was very good. We had a Broadway show, (Saturday Nt Fever) and a Cirque de Soleil show, which were just awesome. The Royal Promenade was beautiful and elegant, never tired of things to do here. There was a real fun guy playing piano in the Schooner bar name Phil Anderson, he truly made our voyage fun. From the pools to the shows to the staff and the junior suite and the fact we got lost many times and spent 5 days exploring this ship, and when we had "high seas" 12'-15 "rollers",.. and they had to close off the upper deck as we would have blown off of it, the staff quickly adjusted to create new plans for entertainment. This ship is huge, but in very very good shape, I did a lot of research here before this and was so surprised. Also they get you on and off the ship in a real decent manner, for the amount of people. Another nice thing was the interactive tv in the room so you could watch you Seapass spending in real time, rather than the big surprise at the end.

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Kenta takes care of the suites here and was very nice, also accommodating. I wondered on the noise level her with the pools above us on deck 11, but it you had to go on your deck and really listen to hear that, nice. Beautiful suite, and even a walk-in closet, nice surprise.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Pleasantly surprised. Very nice cruise port, easy in and easy out of Royal Caribbeans area anyway. 1/2 hr to Newark, $20/person shuttle, not bad.

King's Wharf

After an interesting obstacle course with a 1,188' ocean liner thru the coral reefs, the Kings Wharf is a nice transition from 8,00 people on 2 ships that come in here, to slowly migrate out on buses and ferries to Hamilton and St George, and the beaches. There is plenty to do here with a few nice places to eat also. Frog and Onion was very good, also was Bone Fish bar and Grill. shopping is fair, but better in Hamilton, though that closes by 5.

Falmouth

Yikes! Think before you go past the secured cruise port gate, it's okay but can be intimidating. We were propositioned for a number of things,... but whatever. In the port area is really a lot to do, from the 'local " arts and shopping to Jimmy Buffets Margarittavile, and so on. We only had a day and didn't want to miss the ship, so we hung out in the pools at Margaritaville, and had a great time.

Key West

A place in it's own time. take the "Conch train", it's free, you can walk nearly anywhere, keep an eye on your ship and the clock. Duval street, it's truly unique!, Shop with the locals, eat with the locals, this is a fun, active, yet beautiful tropical destination, at it's own pace.
