Since we had never cruised before we thought it would be nice to try for the best possible first experience and booked a Suite (Celebrity Suite) on the Infinity so maybe our experience, hence review is above average compared to some general room reviews. We also want a smaller ship to Alaska as we did not think we would use all of the extra restaurants, lawn club, etc and Infinity was the perfect size ship!
Although our boarding process lacked direction and organization and no one greeted us, within about 30 minutes we found Micheal's Concierge Lounge and it was a whole new world. From the time we entered and had champagne to be whisked to the private dining room, Luminae, it was as if we were in a five star resort with nothing to do but eat and drink. We were able to then check into our suite by about 2:00pm.
Luminae, the new Suite only restaurant was 5 star dining and Lazar, the MAÎTRE D' said "welcome home" every time we arrived. He and his staff made us feel special and warm and it reminded us that we were on vacation. This is a small restaurant and so again we never had to wait on lines, get shoved around at the buffet, etc.
Our suite was wonderful #604. About 460 square feet with a rounded balcony. I picked this particular room not only because it 'juts' out from the boat but it faces forward and so it offers a spectacular view facing forward all the way to the back. It was a perfect location mid-ship, near the stairway and elevator (but not noisy). We had a seperate bedroom with a large closet. Great shower pressure by the way (-: I loved the room!
Really loved walking around on our own. There were wonderful excursions, however we chose to walk around.
