First cruise, didn't really know what to expect. But, here are my thoughts on the Carnival Victory .... 1) lunch lines were very long, there was no way to get to a salad without going thru an entire line of other foods. 2) Salad choices were VERY limited at lunch. (a nice salad bar, away from the other food would have been a nice. 3) the Serenity Lounge offered an adults only deck area BUT it was directly above a kiddy pool, which disrupted the serenity of the Serenity Lounge 4) the rooms had plenty of storage, but were in need of an update (the appointment were old) - old phones, old hairdryers (which burned your hand while you dried your hair), out dated TVs, trim around bathroom door was rusty, tiles were lose, etc... 5) thousands of pictures posted each night seemed like a waste of photo paper, when all pictures taken could have been digitized and sent directly passengers rooms for viewing - and purchase could be made thru interactive TV - current method is dated and doesn't take advantage of available technologies 6) the steward staff taking care of the rooms were GREAT! as was the dinner staff waiting on our table. BUT - the remainder of the staff wasn't that helpful and often was unable to answer basic questions about how to get from here to there on the boat - All employees should be able to provide passengers basic info about the ship and where things are located. 7) we did a couple of excursions and enjoyed them, attended a couple of shows, and saw enough Karaoke to last a lifetime. Not sure I'll try another cruise - but I am sure it won't be on the Victory.
