EXPLORER OF THE SEAS: Ship recently refitted and capacity increased by about 700 people. There was nowhere to sit at any bar after the late sitting dinner. Resorted to sitting on stairs along with other passenngers. Staff could not cope. Constant queueing at all bars in the evening for a drink. Queued for breakfast due to lack of waiters. Sundeck absolutely packed to the gunnels with no space between loungers if you could get one. there was no chance of standing at the rail on the upper decks due to gross overcrowding. No implementing of removing towels from loungers. Had no help from deck staff as they were rarely around. Drinks horrendously expensive. we were told in writing that 15% would be added but then onboard 18% was added. This ship and the line were a blatetent milk cow. We were told that the issue was being addressed but nothing happened. Thought we would avoid the kids school hols but didnt reckon on the scottish holidays. Majority of passengers were from scotland with their children. When in spanish waters an extra 3% added to all purchases makind the add on for a drink at 21% when paying as you go. It seems drink packages didnt pay this.
I have been on a few cruises but I will never go Royal Carribean again especially never on any of their big ships.
ours was a refurb but doors didnt close properly. Bathroom smaller than average. Clean beds and great cabin service steward
