We had a recent family trip and we love cruising to Bermuda. However, the recent cruise wasn't up to the standard of excellence we expected from Holland America.
The positives from the cruise - we had a great time as a family, despite some really rough seas (Force 9 on Beaufort scale, according to Captain's announcement). Luckily my family doesn't get seasick, and my son compared the motion to riding an airplane. He had an absolute blast in the Club HAL - his "teacher" was amazing and she had him begging to spend as much time with that club as possible!
My teens found the teen club a bit lacklustre, and the upper pool area on the ship (for teens only) was closed the entire cruise with no explanation given.
4 person cabin - the bed for child comes down out of the ceiling and is like a bunk bed over the main bed where the parents sleep. The couch also gets converted to a bed which was fine for my teen daughter (5'10").
Had a great time in Bermuda and docking in downtown is a plus! Easy to get on and off, and getting around Bermuda much easier from this central location!
Great city to visit. The embarkation area is a bit basic and not all staff very knowledgeable, but we got onboard pretty quick and disembarkation was fairly smooth as well.
