I know the ship is 14 years old, but standard cleaning shouldn't be forgotten. Everywhere from our room to the general areas was dirty. We've been on the Oasis, the Allure and most recently, the Jewel. Maybe we were spoiled by the Jewel because the Adventure was a significant step backwards. The Captain on the Jewel was very particular. He wouldn't even start the muster drill until EVERY passenger was in their stations. The Adventure was done, including the Captain's message, before everyone filed in. Not high on my priority list but just shows the level of detail. The Jewel was amazing!!!! Always spotless, better food, and WAYYYYY better staff. The Adventure could use some training from that crew. Even the fitness center was a mess. The weight blocks on the machines were rusted together. Seriously??? And it's due for a major update. Get some new gear that reflects the times.
The biggest letdown is the lack of any consistency with RCL. The Oasis was great! The Allure after that, not so much. Gave RCL another chance with the Jewel which we loved!!! Only to be let down by the Adventure again. RCL needs to build consistency in order to maintain a loyal customer base who will help them attract new customers. Even with my status in both Crown and Anchor as well as in the Casino, I am not sure we will be back on a RCL cruise any time soon.
Oh.... and the Adventure is still dealing with the gastrointestinal virus, years after it was first contaminated. Based on the cleanliness of the ship, I'm not surprised. You could Purell that thing top to bottom and that won't replace good ole fashion elbow grease.
ehhhhh
We tend to just get on the boat in San Juan. We don't venture out much there.
Great day at Rainbow Beach! No. Not the best beach due to the rocks. But a great beach for sun, water, food, drinks and new friends.
Orient Beach was very nice. Good waves, crystal clear water and white beach. Food at Bikini Beach was excellent.
Always one of our favorite destinations. Spent the day at Dickenson's Bay and sat in front of Ana's Restaurant. Awesome food and service. Perfect little beach. White sugar beach, bright blue water with sandy bottom. No seaweed. Definitely a potential retirement island.
