We flew into Seattle from Miami on Juy 1, 2015 and stayed at the Mariott Waterfront hotel with waterfront view. The hotel was on the expensive side but we decided to splurge on this vacation. The weather was HOT. Seattle was going thru a heat wave. Not what we were expecting coming from Miami. I have been trying to get to Alaska for over 10 years and we were finally here. The view at the hotel was beautiful, but the room was ugly. I understand the lobby had been redone and it looked ok. Not alot going on. For the price we paid we expected better. It was small and bland. If we didn't have the view, it would be classified a little better than a Motel 6. We were suppose to come back there after the cruise, but was so disappointed (even with the view) that we checked into the Sheridan a few blocks away on the return trip. That room we enjoyed. This hotel was busy and active, We were in the middle of everything .First day we were lucky to have an elevator outside our hotel that went up 3 floors to the street above. Went down to Pikes Market and even bought a bouquet of beautiful flowers to take on the ship. That place is very busy . . Went to the original Starbucks store ( ADVISE: if you go, be there by 9AM, the line is hugh by 11 am).Afterwards walked over to the Carousel area,. Next day we walked all over downtown area, found the Sheridan and reserved a room for our return.
We checked out and noon and took a cab (approx 10.00 plus tip) to pier 91. On going onboard, advised that I could not go thru security machine and never had to advise them again.
CABIN
