  3. Caribbean Princess
This is our 3rd Cruise with Princess, and we stuck with them when booking a holiday last minute after our intended plans fell through. We had 4 weeks to sort a holiday so we opted to go with "what we knew" - what a result !! The ship was a little dated, but she was clean & had all the amenities we needed. We had an excellent Cabin Steward - Edgardo on Baja. We had the extreme fortune to be served by fantastic crew, with the following crew being outstanding :- Moses - Head Waiter - Island Dining Jeff - Bar Steward - Int Cafe Daniel - Bar Steward - Explorers Unusually, we had a Captain change part way through our voyage. Capt Giorgio Pomata took us to Helsinki, at which point Capt Nick Nash took over for the remainder of the cruise. Having cruised Alaska with Capt Giorgio some years ago, we felt we were back home with an old friend. We were a little disappointed upon leaving Helsinki when a new voice on the Bridge announced his arrival... Capt Nick Nash. We soon realised we had a very different, but equally brilliant substitute - Capt Nick Nash was fabulous. After eventually coming to terms with "losing" Giorgio, we soon began to look forward to hearing Capt Nick's updates. What a Star !! He was very informative, but interesting at the same time, & each announcement was delivered very professionally. His announcements were on occasion more entertaining than what was on offer in the Princess Theatre. Hilarious in some instances. In all seriousness, he kept us informed with points of interest, timings, and more importantly the Shipping Forecast - and he was very accurate in this respect. He warned us we would be "punching into it". The 2 x stormy nights were a concern, we did wonder if we might become extras in Deadliest Catch on one night, but we felt we were in safe hands. This confidence was borne out when we found Capt Nash had decided not to turn the ship so as to make the journey more comfortable. Food on board : Horizon Court - food was good quality. We preferred International Cafe (which we nicknamed Midnight Munchies after a few late nights) - food here was lovely. We tried various bars - all were great. Tours/Excursions - these were enjoyable, the main disappointment was the shuttle charge - many commented that this was new for Princess..and not very welcome !! All in all, a fabulous holiday & a cruise I would recommend.

Adequate for 2 adults.Bed was comfortable. Plenty of clothes-space. Shower was small, but no issues at all with this. Balcony was a must.
