This is our 3rd Cruise with Princess, and we stuck with them when booking a holiday last minute after our intended plans fell through. We had 4 weeks to sort a holiday so we opted to go with "what we knew" - what a result !!
The ship was a little dated, but she was clean & had all the amenities we needed.
We had an excellent Cabin Steward - Edgardo on Baja. We had the extreme fortune to be served by fantastic crew, with the following crew being outstanding :-
Adequate for 2 adults.Bed was comfortable. Plenty of clothes-space. Shower was small, but no issues at all with this. Balcony was a must.
Took the shuttle into City Centre - appx 20 minutes. Beautiful city and one I would re-visit.
Took the shuttle - again a beautiful city. Took a boat trip to see the sights. Used Redsightseeing as they have a hop-on/hop-off option so you can explore the different areas. Other operators offer the same/similar options.
We walked into the City - took appx 30 mins but was on the flat, so not a strenuous walk. A beautiful clean city with plenty to do - particularly if you like shopping.
What is not to like ? Our favourite place. A beautiful city, picturesque and such friendly people. A must on any voyage.
Review relates to Gdynia. Having been informed that Gdansk was an hour away ( maybe on coaches with no air-con ) we opted to walk into Gdynia where we docked.
Walk took appx 30 mins and was not through the greatest of areas, (it is an industrial area, so not pretty, but is safe enough from our experience) so persevere.
We had researched Gdynia and knew there was a small promenade & Marina so we sought it out. We had good weather and it was worth the walk. We found some nice bars/restaurants along the promenade and it got us off the ship in between days at sea. Costs ashore are cheap.
Only criticism is of Princess who provided no information on Gdynia, or any directions on how to find the centre. Assumption is they gain more from the tours to Gdansk.
