We have never been on a Royal Caribbean ship before, (generally we do Carnival) but we've heard such good things about them, that we wanted to give it a try. We chose a short one to get a feel for it. While I am glad we did it, in hindsight we should of picked a newer ship to get the full and real experience.
The ship is over 20 years old, and while it was clean, it looked very dated. The rooms were a decent size, (we had an upgraded window room on the 9th floor) but the décor was very outdated and simple. There was plenty of storage space, and our room stewarded did a great job keeping it clean. That is the only real positive I can say about the room. The bed was awful, and felt like we were sleeping on planks of wood. the pillows were flat, and it took three to make the feel of one. The air conditioning only barely worked in the room (a common problem from talking to the other guests) which combined led to some very uncomfortable nights (lack of) sleep.
The food was a highlight. The dining room had a very nice menu selection each night, and the buffets were very well done. They had a Johnny Rockets which had a small cover charge (about $5) and it was all you can eat. The food there was delicious. The servers were very personable and added to the fun experience of the ship.

The embarkation and debarkation process was very fast and easy. The staff were very efficient and made the process quick and painless.
We decided to take a private cab around the island. They only charged us $30 per person for a three hour tour.. (LOL.. no pun intended) There was only a few sights to see, and they had more shopping then anything. There were some pretty views but that's really about it. There was Atlantis, which next time we go we may do. But, this time we wanted to focus more on the "real" Bahamas.
