Just returned from our cruise. We went with 6 other families so there was a total of 23 people in our group. We were the only family that had cruised on the NCL Dawn before. The check-in took a long time but I guess that is to be expected with the thousands of people booked to go on this cruise. Living in Massachusetts this is a very easy vacation for us.

We decided to check in all our luggage and just carry on a bag with swimsuits and a change of clothes for dinner in case our luggage was delayed. Once we got onto the ship around noon we headed to our balcony mini suite on the 11th floor to see if our room was ready and to much of our surprise it was. We dropped our things off and headed to the Garden Café (buffet) for some lunch. The buffet was well shocked but was missing a few things. They only had 2 salad dressings (blue cheese and french) available both of which I don't eat and they were also out of some alcoholic drinks. When I inquired about the lack of, the server said that they get shocked up again in Boston and all would be available by the evening which totally made sense (they can't have 6 months supply on the ship right) and by no means was I upset with it, I just wanted to mention for future cruisers so you know!

We headed to the pool and had a lot of fun with the entertainment staff. That night we headed to the Venation for dinner. My son has a peanut, tree nut and sesame allergy and although we had told them when we first made our reservation, we still felt it was important to mention it to our server. My son ordered sliders for his starter and they came out on a sesame roll. We asked the server to take it away and next we knew we had one of the managers at our table to apologize. She mentioned to us that people with allergies have to notify the restaurant they are going to be eating at 24 hours beforehand. We were not aware of this. Future cruisers, if you have an allergy take note.
